Staff & Safety

At Sportekids, we are fully aware of the responsibilities of caring for children, and we pride ourselves in providing an environment, which is fully insured, and where children are free to have fun and can express themselves within safe and secure boundaries. This is achieved by selecting coaching staff who are fully qualified with years of sports experience. There is always a member of staff available who has first aid training and the teacher/pupil ratio is never more than 1 to 15.

Groupings

In our experience, children get the most out of the activities if they are in groups of a similar age. It enables the group dynamic to work smoothly and allows friendships to develop within peer groups. Naturally, there are also some more physical activities where it is important to group children together of the same age due to physical disparities. However, there is scope for your child to be in the same group as friends wherever possible – just let us know on the booking form or give us a call.

Medical Conditions

There are always several qualified first aiders on staff. Please ensure that you inform us of any conditions that your child has either on the booking form or by calling us prior to the start of camp. If your child is bringing any medication please alert us to this and personally hand it to a member of staff at registration for safekeeping. If your child has a severe allergy requiring an epipen then we will need to discuss arrangements and procedures for its use.

What To Bring

  • Casual, comfortable, sports-type clothing and footwear suitable for the weather conditions on the day
  • Swimwear and towel everyday
  • Packed lunch, snacks and drinks for the day or water bottle – there is water available to top up
  • Sunscreen and hat
  • Sports equipment is provided by us but please feel free to bring own tennis racquet
  • Pocket money – there is a small tuck shop at lunchtime

Drop-Off/Pick-Up

Use the West Gate entrance to Lady Eleanor Holles Senior School into the car park by the Sports Hall. Park here and follow the footpath round the side of the swimming pool to the playing fields at the back of the sports hall. Registration will take place at arrival and at departure times.

Cancellation

In the case of cancellation, a full refund will be reimbursed if more than 3 weeks notice is given to us. However, if notice is less than 3 weeks, only 50% will be reimbursed unless a doctor’s certificate is produced as proof of illness or injury when we will obviously refund in full.
